As a biologist and researcher, I have seen all sorts of quackery draped in the cloak of “scientific” facts, but this book is hard to swallow. The total package is at odds with cherry-picked data in this series rag. If people are, unfortunately, the dominant species on planet Earth we have the responsibility to steer the show and so far we have been stupid, selfish and cruel embarrassment to our planet and our fellow human beings. Despite the political and monetary deceit from NASA and the arms industry, is humanity probably one thousand years to travel to other stars and galaxies with no hope of a return trip. In the meantime, maybe we need our spaceship Earth and stop destroying our only hope of survival. When we ask we are all alone in the universe, perhaps the real question should be why are we alone? How intelligent life force can be a real space (not fake-definition NASA) would make us loose on the galaxy after the mess we have created on earth. Perhaps the successor to H. sapiens will evolve in parallel with the wisdom sluwheid.Ik suggest reading two books: “Out of Thin Air” by Peter Douglas and the ‘little accidents and disasters “, the climate over geological periods of study. Let me suggest that 1500 years is not much margin for geological climate cycle, making even the title of this book ridiculous. Google and Cassandra (sister of Hector and daughter of Priam). Distorted despite hype book. I guess on the 99th 9999% of the scientists whose job it is to restore the scientific analysis is stupid. The thousands of eyes to obvious neglected, while some authors work for the heritage and Cato Foundations supported by large energy-industry money, the unbiased truth. Yep all Europeans are stupid, while Rush Limbaugh and the other preachers foaming at the mouth of the village idiots kreeg.Ik has just recommended that you look at the film “An Inconvenient Truth”. DVD version is in the video store / cable as a major update section. I believe that global warming is the most important issue for humanity. This is not a political issue, because the film is a moral issue. I read scientific articles on global warming, more than 10 years. The film sums up everything I’ve read in a clear and powerful way and has added an additional new information. Global warming is not an abstract scientific theory but a fact supported by more than 1,000 reviewed scientific articles. The only problem I see with the scientific publications by scientists tend to the expected future impact, as many scientists have dismissed the moderate and criticism of those in power whose followers are losing money. There are many resources available for further research, but I would like to recommend two. Collapse by Jared Diamond. This book is about how historical civilizations have been destroyed in some cases with evidence clearly showing that they do. Hypothesis, this book is taken with the warming of the earth, makes me think that the crisis in Darfur is something that will be repeated thousands of times around the world within the next 50 years. The second book I would recommend is “Global Warming, Global Threat” by Michael B. McElroy. This is a college-level introductory course on global warming as the mechanics involved and some tips about the future consequences explains. This will provide a basic understanding of global warming. The two books are available in printed formaat.Please sound and see the film An Inconvenient Truth if you care about the future of your children and grandchildren.
